Alcohol and adventure fueled Ralph Steadman’s longtime friendship with Hunter S. Thompson. Starting in the 1970's, Steadman's drawings and Thompson's writings became inextricably linked. The two collaborated on articles for Rolling Stone magazine and best-selling books like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas#eI#. In 2005, Thompson committed suicide on his ranch in Woody Creek.
