Denver's East High School is experimenting with classes that do way with traditional ability grouping. English teacher Jeremy Hoffer and his colleague Jennifer Kent designed the classes to see if mixing helps failing students improve without bringing other students down. University of Colorado doctoral student Holly Yetick observed the new approach during the last school year and found some mixed results. They talk to Ryan Warner.
