Fort Carson has been hit hard by the war in Iraq and its aftermath. Since last May, more than 30 soldiers from the base have been killed. Lt. Col. James Ellison, one of 20 chaplains at Fort Carson, has officiated over most of the memorial services for the fallen soldiers and shares his experiences.
