Xcel Energy, the state’s largest utility, is exploring a new and cleaner method of generating power from coal. It's called, Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle, or IGCC, and it converts coal into a gas to create energy. Many environmentalists laud this new technology as a way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The group Western Resource Advocates has worked with Xcel to bring the technology to Colorado. Energy Project Director John Nielsen talks to Ryan Warner.
