Two separate interest groups plan to air advertisements before Wednesday’s presidential debate held at the University of Denver. KRCC’s Kate Dunn has more:
The two groups say they will use the 30-second slots to raise awareness for their causes, but aren’t endorsing any candidates.
The Colorado Education Association is a teacher’s union made up of nearly 40,000 members. The group says it will use the pre-debate ad space to highlight the importance of good teachers and quality public education.
The other ad comes from the group Mayors Against Illegal Guns. It features a survivor of the Aurora Theatre Shooting and seeks to include gun policy in the election discourse.
The Colorado Education Association ad will reach viewers in Denver, Grand Junction, and Colorado Springs. The Mayors Against Illegal Guns ad will reach viewers nationwide.
