Every year, the MacArthur Foundation awards 24 "Genius Grants" to brilliant creators in various fields of study.
On Sept. 25 of this year, pianist Jeremy Denk, hailed as the "humorist-intellectual of the classical-music world," joined the ranks of these genius recipents. The following week, Denk released his latest for Nonesuch Records, a recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations.
In the midst of a milestone week for the genius pianist, Monika Vischer had the opportunity to speak with Denk ahead of his Sept. 27 performance at Macky Auditorium in Boulder.
