Still, with Congress divided, a bipartisan group of Colorado lawmakers held their noises and supported the legislation.
Only Republicans Mike Coffman and Cory Gardner opposed the agreement.
Like many fiscal conservatives, Colorado Republican Doug Lamborn isn’t happy with the budget deal, but he voted for it, in part to undo sequestration’s pending cuts on the Pentagon.
“If this deal does not pass we have a $20 billion dollar hit on the military on January 15," Lamborn said. "And that’s going to affect the training of our troops. Some of them are in my district right now ready to go over to Afghanistan, for instance.”
The legislation is now on its way to the Senate where many lawmakers are voicing frustration over the proposal, which means it still has to overcome a big hurdle before it can get to the president.
