The deadline to get health insurance as required by the Affordable Care Act is now three weeks away, on March 31. Colorado's health insurance exchange has launched a big marketing push, and is staffing up to meet expected demand.
The exchange, Connect for Health Colorado, is ramping up messaging on both traditional and social media.
The group is setting up tables in grocery stores across the state, and opening a temporary storefront on Denver's 16th Street Mall letting people know about the end of March deadline.
It's also staffing up its call center, which got very busy in December as thousands of Coloradans rushed to enroll starting Jan. 1.
Connect for Health's Lindy Hinman says they learned from that experience.
"We have over 200-plus agents ready on the phones to take calls, and that is admittedly more prepared than we were in December," she said.
The call center will also be open late at the end of this week, and until midnight on March 15 and 31.
