One session, two wonderful talents: last week we hosted both Liz Longley and Natalie Tate in the CPR Performance Studio. Longley is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter who won the BMI John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship Contest in 2010 and is due to release her fourth solo album this year. Colorado's own Natalie Tate, who performs solo as well as with Denver band Ark Life, has played in our studio several times.
Before a pair of Colorado performances, the two took turns playing a couple songs in our CPR Performance Studio. Keefer Fulgham chatted with Longley about studying at the Berklee College of Music and utilizing Kickstarter to fund records, and with Tate about the dichotomy between her solo work and Ark Life career and the power of sad songs.
