Colorado unemployment is down again.
The latest numbers from the state labor department show unemployment at 5.1 percent in August, down two tenths from July and the lowest level in Colorado since September 2008.
At the same time, a monthly survey of employers indicates the state lost about 700 jobs last month. Labor Department economist Alexandra Hall says that is not anything to worry about.
"One month does not signal a change in trend," Hall says. "We’ve got prior to this 33 consecutive months of job growth, we’ve seen Colorado continue to grow faster than the nation."
Jobs in manufacturing and hospitality were up last month. Colorado’s construction industry lost jobs in August.
