The national president of the NAACP is visiting the Colorado Springs area this weekend to promote unity in response to a recent explosion outside a building housing the local NAACP office.
The Gazette reported that Cornell Williams Brooks' visit will start with a reception at the Mining Exchange Wyndham Grand Hotel on Friday night. He'll attend a luncheon and state conference at Colorado College on Saturday. On Sunday, Brooks will deliver the sermon during the 11 a.m. service at New Jerusalem Baptist Missionary Church in Fountain.
