says that 13.6 percent of adults currently use pot. Of those, more than a third said they use pot every day.
Adults with higher incomes and more education were more likely than others to have used marijuana. The survey also found young adults are more than 10 times more likely to use than those over the age of 65.
Nearly one in five reported getting behind the wheel after using. Dr. Larry Wolk, the state’s chief medical officer, says that's a bad idea.
“You are then not even potentially, but probably an impaired driver and so you put yourself and others are risk,” Wolk said.
The survey also asked about children. Almost 7 percent said they kept marijuana in a home where children up to age 14 were living. More than 70 percent of those said they kept marijuana locked away.
