Recent snow storms mean that those looking to ski Vail Mountain have as much terrain to choose from on an Opening Day as the resort has had in a decade.
The Vail Daily reports that the resort opens Friday with nine lifts accessing 1,150 skiable acres.
Vail Mountain Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Chris Jarnot says storms that are forecast in the coming days should allow even more terrain to be opened between now and Thanksgiving.
Vail Mountain lifts open at 9 a.m. throughout the early season to accommodate early-morning operations.
