A statewide law enforcement effort to crack down on drug- and alcohol-impaired driving during the days before and after New Year's Eve is underway.
The Longmont Times-Call reports state and local authorities stepped up their efforts during the pre-Christmas holiday season and arrested nearly 600 drivers. There will be 65 agencies participating in the heightened anti-DUI enforcement from Wednesday through Monday, including the CU-Boulder and Loveland police departments and the Weld County Sheriff's Office.
