a Reuters report that Fort Collins-based brewery New Belgium was exploring a sale.
At the time, the company only said its board has an "obligation to have on-going dialogue with capital markets" and that "there was no sale pending." Now, CEO Christine Perich tells the Coloradoan the report was "total speculation."
"We're doing our due diligence as a board and somebody decided to run with that," said Perich. "There's a part of me that wants to reassure, and there's a part of me that doesn't want to perpetuate a story."
Perich's comments were published in the Coloradoan's in-depth look at the company as it celebrates its 25th anniversary. It's worth a read.
