Marlon Williams is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter from Lyttelton, New Zealand. His music career began with high school band The Unfaithful Ways, which became a critical favorite in his home country.
Williams has set out on a solo career with his first self-titled album. Though he was raised by a punk-singer father, Williams writes acoustic country-folk that is at times slow and mournful.
The single "Dark Child" showcases Williams' mature baritone croon, which recalls Roy Orbison and Townes Van Zandt.
Marlon Williams performs at the Boulder Theater with Sam Beam and Jesca Hoop on June 7.
