Sir George Martin passed away yesterday at age 90. The producer leaves behind an incredible musical legacy, grounded in his Beatles masterworks but reaching beyond all expectations.

Here's a beginner's list to the long voyage of George Martin's musical work.

'Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport'

Sir George produced his first hit for Rolf Harris. The Beatles and everybody else heard this over and over on the radio.

'The Hippopotamus'

Novelty, children's songs and comedy fill out Martin's pre-Beatle resume. One of his big hits was "The Hippopotamus" for Flanders & Swann in 1959.

'Theme One'

The theme tune for BBC Radio 1, written and produced by Martin.

"In My Life"

Martin gives a baroque atmosphere to John Lennon's "In My Life," and even plays harpsichord.

'Eleanor Rigby'

Here's the string arrangement, sans Beatles.

'A Day In The Life'

Martin mashes a Lennon song reflecting on headlines with a McCartney nostalgia fragment, then orchestrates an extended atonal crescendo, and the "Sgt. Pepper's" album has a mind boggling finale.

'Pepperland'

Martin's movie scoring for "Yellow Submarine," particularly "Pepperland," keeps the midnight moviegoers in a state of bliss.

'Live & Let Die'

Martin produced former Beatle Paul McCartney's James Bond theme for "Live & Let Die," the debut of Roger Moore as 007.

A Visit With Brian Wilson

Sir George drives through Los Angeles to visit with the Beach Boy singer and producer.

'Candle In The Wind 1997'

In 1997 Martin produces the biggest selling single in history: Elton John's Princess Diana tribute.
