The Jefferson County teacher’s union and the district have reached a tentative five-year contract.
The contract includes a 2 percent pay raise for teachers, in addition to a one-time 2 percent raise next fiscal year.
The district says the agreement works towards closing the gap when teachers in 2010 took a 3 percent pay cut. The union needs to ratify the agreement this week and the school board in early June.
