A bill to ban red light cameras in Colorado met its end today, with a swipe of Gov. John Hickenlooper’s veto pen.
Hickenlooper also vetoed two similar measures last year. At the time, he said he would support limiting red light cameras to just certain circumstances, like school zones and historically dangerous intersections.
This year’s bill however was another broad attempt at banning the technology and the governor said he could not accept it. The measure had bipartisan support among lawmakers.
