CPR Classical recently threw a retirement bash for Charley Samson to honor his nearly 50 years as a classical music host on the Denver airwaves.
Some great musicians turned out to share intimate performances as part of the sendoff. Here are a few of our favorites.
First, there’s a virtuosic performance from Colorado Symphony flutist Brook Ferguson. She plays Giulio Briccialdi's lively “Carnival of Venice” with pianist Joshua Sawicki. Watch the video above.
We also hosted pianist Susan Grace. She saluted Samson by playing Carlton Gamer’s reflective “Three Pieces From The Gardens of the West.”
