Rhodes, who teaches violin at the University of Colorado -- which is also the home base for Takacs -- recently showed off her skills as a soloist in the CPR Performance Studio. She played a somber, lyrical excerpt from Leos Janacek's Violin Sonata with accompaniment from pianist David Korevaar. Watch the video at the top of this post.
Rhodes' new job in Takacs becomes official on May 1. She replaces Karoly Schranz, who helped found the group in 1975.
