The parent company of King Soopers and City Market is nixing plastic grocery bags in favor of reusable bags in its stores.
Kroger, the nation's largest grocery chain, started going plastic free today in its Seattle stores. The company's nearly 2,800 locations will be plastic bag free by 2025.
There are around 143 King Soopers and City Market stores across Colorado.
The move is part of what the company is calling its "Zero Hunger, Zero Waste" initiative.
