Amazon says it will expand its footprint in Boulder.
The Amazon tech advertising team, responsible for optimizing the technology behind the giant's advertising operation, will move to a new 37,000 square foot building downtown this fall.
"We know there is a lot of technical talent in Boulder and we anticipate continuing to add jobs and add employees to our Boulder location," said Amazon spokesperson Teal Pennebaker.
The company currently has more than 100 job openings for locations around the Front Range, with more to come. The Seattle-based company already has large fulfillment centers in Thornton and Aurora.
Pennebaker made it clear that this expansion is not related to Amazon's search for a second headquarters location. Denver is a top 20 finalist to land HQ2 and the promised bounty of jobs. No announcement on the second headquarters has been made yet.
The new office will be located at 1900 15th St. near Boulder's Pearl Street Mall.
