A Visit To The Mother Cabrini Shrine As Colorado Marks Holiday In Her Honor
Today is Frances Xavier Cabrini Day in Colorado. Governor Polis signed this into law in March. It’s observed every year on the first Monday in October in lieu of Columbus Day. Mother Cabrini, as she was better known, is considered one of Colorado’s most significant Italian-Americans. She was the first U.S. citizen canonized a saint in 1946. The Mother Cabrini Shrine is in Golden.
