Event Description

The Fremont County Community Concert Association presents an afternoon of jazz performed by After Midnight Jazz Band on Sunday, January 26TH, at 3 pm in the Canon City H.S. auditorium, 1313 College Avenue, Canon City.
Based in the heart of Denver, After Midnight is a collective of seasoned musicians dedicated to delivering captivating performances that celebrate the essence of jazz and Latin jazz. Their versatile ensemble brings a touch of sophistication and joy to any event. Led by Roger Campbell on Clarinet, their musicians have graced prestigious stages and enchanted audiences worldwide. They have established themselves as trailblazers in the jazz world, garnering acclaim from fans and critics alike. After Midnight sets the perfect ambiance with smooth vocals, mesmerizing solos and irresistible grooves.
Their repertoire incorporates music from Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and Lionel Hampton to Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. You’ll hear great swing music recently made popular by the likes of Dianna Krall, Michael Bublé and Harry Connick Jr. They also play some originals and some songs that were specifically written for them! Their instrumentation is unlike any other band in the region and very few in the world — it features Clarinet, Vibraphone, Piano, Bass, Guitar and Drums. What’s a Vibraphone? It’s a lot like bells or marimba but has vibrato when you hit the metal bars.
After Midnight’s Musicians have over 200 years of combined professional experience. The band has played over 1000 gigs, recorded two live and seven studio CDs, sold over 5000 CD’s, has over 1000 fans on their email list and more than 650 likes on Facebook. They’ve played at hundreds of concerts, weddings, events, festivals, dances and clubs over the years. Some of the more memorable ones include the San Diego Jazz Festival, Sun Valley Jazz and Music Festival, Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, Capital City Jazz Festival, Evergreen Jazz Festival, Taste of Colorado, Cherry Creek Arts Festival, Jazz in the Sangres Festival and Rocky Mountain PBS TV.
Tickets at the door are $20. Season tickets are still available. Complimentary admission for students under age 18 when accompanied by a member.
