We extend a warm welcome to people from all walks of life to attend this evening event. This is a space for learning, sharing, and empowerment.
Diné artist Shayla Blatchford, a featured artist in the A Thousand Beautiful Lies exhibition, will be offering a rare opportunity to engage with her work, “The Anti-Uranium Mapping Project,” through an artist talk. This will be followed by a presentation of groundbreaking research on the health effects of uranium mining and milling on the Navajo Nation by Dr. Phillida A. Charley (Diné). A community conversation will follow, providing a unique chance to interact with these esteemed individuals.
This Center for Fine Art Photography event is sponsored in part by a National Endowment for the Arts grant and a Fort Collins Fort Fund grant and in collaboration with the Native American Cultural Center and the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University.
