CC Collegium concert celebrating the memory of Nancy Ekberg
When
Event Description
The Colorado College Music Department will celebrate the memory of Nancy Ekberg during the Collegium Musicum ensemble’s spring concert, beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 13 in Packard Hall with a reception to follow.
The ensemble is under the direction of Elisa Wicks, and the concert features special guest Carla Moore on baroque violin. The program, titled “An Afternoon at Café Zimmermann,” is named for the coffee house in Leipzig where musicians would gather on Friday evenings in the early to mid-1700s for the first Collegium Musicum concerts.
The concert celebrates gatherings and the way music brings people together, just as Nancy did. She was the Collegium director and recorder instructor at CC before she passed away earlier this year.
Admission is free and open to the public. The concert will also be livestreamed on the Music Department's Facebook and YouTube.
For more information about the concert or about parking at CC for music events, contact the Music Office at (719) 389-6545 or [email protected]. Visit www.coloradocollege.edu/music to learn more about the CC Music Department.
