Fort Collins Symphony with composer Stacy Garrop

"The Fort Collins Symphony welcomes composer Stacy Garrop for the Colorado premiere of her new work, 'Battle for the Ballot', given its broadcast debut by CPR Classical on Election Day in 2020, commemorating the passage of the 19th Amendment that granted women the right to vote. The concert, 'Escape to New Realms' also features Samuel Barber's 'The School for Scandal,' and Rachmaninoff's ‘Isle of the Dead', a dramatic tone poem inspired by Swiss symbolist artist Arnold Bocklin’s painting of the same name. The evening concludes with Igor Stravinsky’s powerful 'Firebird Suite.'"
