Fort Collins Symphony: Escape to the Zoo, a family concert

"This fun and whimsical live concert is for the young and the young-at-heart! Featuring Gregory Smith’s Zoo Song and Camille Saint-Saën’s Carnival of the Animals. 'Zoo Song' tells the story of a young girl’s trip to the zoo. She is captivated by one particular sound and sets out on a quest to find its source. She encounters many musically depicted animals along the way. The source of the elusive sound is revealed unexpectedly in the poignant conclusion to this heartfelt work. 'Carnival of the Animals' is a funny and delightful piece for all ages. It uses music to represent all sorts of animals in different ways. Throughout the piece, the composer depicts lions, roosters, donkeys, turtles, elephants, kangaroos, an aquarium, birds, fossils, and a swan."
