Event Description
We will learn about the historic associations with the Patty Jewett Memorial Field (now known as Patty Jewett golf course) and the large number of greenhouses (in an area now known as Casa Verde Co-Housing), the various subdivisions and the changing tastes of homebuilding over the years. Dominant architectural styles and types will be identified and notable individuals, such as former mayor Charles Thomas, will be highlighted. Tim’s walking tour of the neighborhood will be Friday, May 9.
Tim Scanlon: BS in History from the University of Tulsa. He spent 25 years as a Senior Planner in the Colorado Springs Comprehensive Planning Division.
