The Manitou Springs Heritage Museum proudly hosts Tina Cox and her presentation, “Manitou Greenstone-A Tale of Two Greenstones”. See this engaging and educational program addressing a largely forgotten but highly significant chapter of Manitou Springs’ history. Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society member Tina Cox will explain how her experience in learning about metamorphic greenstone in Alaska ultimately led her to discover Manitou Greenstone. Greenstone was quarried around Manitou Springs from approximately 1890 to 1940 and can be found in many of our town’s bridges and public buildings. Join us at the Museum!
