Masterworks 6 Concert
When
Event Description
This concert features Michael Romans, returning to the National Repertory Orchestra to perform Bruch's Concerto No. 1 for Violin & Orchestra. Rick Robinson, a double bassist, composer, and entrepreneur, is an NRO alum! His "Pork 'n Beans" resembles a balanced plate of food for a musical palette. As Robinson describes the piece, "The title calls up a plate of food because classical music alternates a few bites of one theme with a few bites from another. That's why classical music still matters. There's coleslaw on this plate too, to cool down the heat when the spicy food builds to a crisis like most classical music does."
