This weekend workshop will give you a taste of the ancient art of mosaics as you create your own work of art from start to finish. You’ll work with a variety of mosaic glass, learn about rules of design with specific emphasis on mosaics, use new tools, and learn to grout.
You will leave this workshop with a complete 12" x 12" mosaic art piece ready to hang on your wall.
This class is suitable for beginners to intermediate level mosaic artists. Ages 12 and up, students 10-12 with accompanying parent who is also taking the class.
Materials supplied; supply list provided with registration. You will need to provide your own inspirational images and/or ideas. Friday night we will design your art piece. Saturday we will work your piece by gluing down all the tesserae. Then on Sunday we will grout your work.
Cost: $175 per person (non-refundable deposit of $75 due to reserve spot, balance due on day of workshop) Minimum 6 people Maximum 12

Instructor Bio: Juanita Canzoneri is a self-taught mosaic artist, learning through trial-and-error and by tapping into the rich vein of artistic generosity in books, online, and through personal relationships with other artists. Juanita has taught at Bemis School of Art, and other locations around Colorado Springs and Denver
2021 marks her 20th year in mosaics. She has had sold her work in Commonwheel Artists Co-op in Manitou Springs, CO. Since 2019 her main creative focus has been as the owner of Kismet Mosaic (kismetmosaic.com).

COVID-19 NOTE: The instructor is fully vaccinated and the classroom space will be divided as needed to accommodate additional space between non-vaccinated participants. Please advise us on your status prior to class start.
