Three Things You Need to Know About U.S. Census Record

by Tamara Hallo

Population censuses are the "go to" records used to piece your family puzzle together. So much can be learned about a family – names, birthplaces, occupations, education, residence, health information, wealth, etc. Join me as you learn why census records were created, how errors were introduced, the major differences between census forms throughout the years, the 13+ different censuses that were taken in addition to population censuses, and where to go to find out exactly how to interpret the census information that was collected.

Tamara Hallo has 25 years of experience as an educator. She has a master of library science degree and a certificate of genealogical research from Boston University. She offers genealogy services at her website, www.hallogenealogyservices.com . She specializes in Southern United States and Miami, FL, research.
