Strings Music Festival: Opening Night Orchestra: Beethoven Symphony 3 “Eroica”
When
Event Description
"Kick off the season with a sumptuous program, beginning with an evocation of the humpback whale in a work for solo harp by 40-year-old Japanese-American composer Takuma Itoh and two works by Arnold Schoenberg, each celebrating its 150th anniversary and composed in the deliciously rich tonal language of turn-of-the-century Vienna. A fresh arrangement of Beethoven’s epic Eroica Symphony will ring in the new season with peals of triumph and joy."
