The Garcias Screening & Artist Reception

Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County announce a special screening and meet the artists reception of the new HBO Max show The Garcias on May 6, 2022 at 5:30pm at the Fortino Ballroom at Pueblo Community College. The Garcias is a reboot of the Nickelodeon hit show The Brothers Garcia, which ran for four seasons from 2000 to 2003. It was a multi-award-winning series for its non-stereotypical portrayal of a family that just happened to be Latino. In the new series, we jump forward 15 years. The Garcia kids are grown up and now have children of their own, and we will see the extended Garcia family travel to the beautiful Riviera Maya in Mexico, a place full of self-discovery, where they will all learn what it really takes to be a “familia.”

Jeff Valdez, co-creator and executive producer, a native Puebloan along with Sol Trujillo co-founded New Cadence Productions. Jeff is a serial entrepreneur, who has been producing, writing and directing TV and film for over 25 years with the likes of Nickelodeon, Disney, Showtime, NBC and HBO Max. He has been credited with pioneering a new category in American television, the English Language Latino Market. He also created and was the CEO/Chairman of Si TV; the first ever English-language TV channel in America (now called Fuse). Jeff is an expert in addressing the multitude of opportunities in this New Mainstream.
