On May 24, 2025 TLF will be at Red Rocks Open Space (East parking lot) for a trail trial event.
These trail trial events are open to anyone interested in learning more about TLF and its mission to make the outdoors accessible. Volunteers and adaptive athletes can both experience short hikes on the trails in the area. These events will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
Our big event in Colorado Springs will be our 2nd annual ascent of Pikes Peak on August 16th / 17th. This multi day event will leave from Manitou on Saturday morning and take shuttles off the Summit on Sunday afternoon. Volunteers are needed for this adventure.
The Lockwood Foundation is a community organization that creates opportunities for those with limited mobility to access the trails and mountains in a way only community can. We currently use a combination of community and technology to create access to trails and adventures that are typically inaccessible or even considered impossible.
TLF has hosted dozens of events each year in Colorado since 2018 to help make the outdoors more inclusive and accessible for all people, regardless of their abilities. The organization has successfully summitted Mount Elbert, Colorado’s highest mountain, each of the past five years. Last year, it reached the top of Pikes Peak in its first-ever attempt of America’s Mountain.
There is no charge for this event.
