Event Description

This year marks the Youth Documentary Academy's 10th anniversary! Come celebrate with us as we adorn the walls of Colorado College's Cornerstone Center with images and films from past and present. And meet some special guests! Since 2014, nearly 120 films -- all locally produced, many nationally acclaimed -- reflect the lived experiences of youth from all corners of the region.

On November 4, the YDA class of 2023 present new films produced in partnership with professional filmmakers. Stories from our community as diverse as the youth who make them -- from teen mental health to international adoption, from affirmative action to Asian hate -- this evening promises to inform, illuminate and entertain.

All screening blocks will be moderated by journalists and teen mental health experts. A connections corridor in the lobby will be tabled by local media, academic leaders, and community non-profits.
This world premiere is also the closing night celebration of the Youth Media Matters Film Festival co-created by the Youth Documentary Academy and Colorado Springs School District 11.

VIP Reception. Tickets include a special reception of hors d'oeuvres and wine + meet the filmmakers – Studio C, Cornerstone Center (Doors open at 4:30pm)
General admission. Celeste Theatre doors open 6pm (Program and screenings begin at 6:30pm)
