Political watchers have long predicted that incumbent Rep. Mike Coffman would be pushed out of his seat as the demographics of his district have shifted — but that has yet to happen. Now that Donald Trump is president, however, both sides of the aisle see the district as even more vulnerable.
Coffman continues to run on his independence from the president and his long history of service to the constituents in his district.
The Democrat challenger is first-time candidate and attorney Jason Crow. He’s an army ranger and like Coffman, a combat veteran. His campaign is locally focused, emphasizing affordable housing, health care, guns and environmental policy.
