Bands love performing at Red Rocks, the dramatic outdoor amphitheater in the foothills west of Denver. But demand has surged in recent years. In 2010, reports music writer Steve Knopper in Variety, there were 73 paid events at the venue, compared to 155 in 2016. Some artists have to book weekends and other high-demand dates as many as five years in advance. Knopper talks to Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner.
