We never grow tired of Denver psych-garage band The Blue Rider, so it was our pleasure to welcome them to the CPR Performance Studio for the third time.
The band takes some notable cues from the rock music of the 1960s and '70s, so it's no surprise the members play with vintage instruments that date back a few decades. Aaron 'Loki' Johnson spoke with the band about their gear, along with the upcoming LP "Year of the Horse," and the decision to release their music on vinyl.
The Blue Rider headlines the Hi-Dive on March 7. "Year of the Horse" is out later this year.
Stream the session above, and watch video of "Year of the Horse" below.
Songs performed:
- "Valley of Tears" (Fats Domino cover)
- "Year of the Horse"
