We've welcomed Nathaniel Rateliff into our CPR Performance Studio in the past, but this week the acclaimed Denver singer-songwriter brought his eight-piece backing band The Night Sweats for the first time.
Though Rateliff & the Night Sweats have only released a handful of tracks, the band has garnered attention for its up-tempo soul/R&B live shows around Denver. The Night Sweats material is a bit removed musically from Rateliff's solo folk work, though he has no trouble switching between the two for his annual holiday shows, the next of which takes place on Friday, Dec. 19 at the Ogden Theatre.
Between songs, Rateliff spoke with Keefer Fulgham about the history of the band and promised a couple of releases for 2015, including a solo EP in January and a Night Sweats record in the spring.
