A parcel of land Steamboat Springs hopes to turn into affordable housing.

The Yampa Valley Housing Authority purchased 534 acres of land thanks to an anonymous donor who was concerned about housing affordability in Routt County. An annexation vote will determine if plans can move forward for a property that could develop more than 2,200 new workforce housing units. Dylan Anderson, founder of the Yampa Valley Bugle, says the vote is as much about the scale of the project as anything else.
