Colorado Competes: Colorado’s Four Time Olympic Triathlete

Listen Now

Colorado Competes is our series about athletes from our state who are taking part in the London Olympics. Today, Ryan Warner speaks with a competitor who has to be a triple threat. Hunter Kemper, of Colorado Springs, is a triathlete. That means he’ll have to swim just under a mile, bike nearly 30 miles, and run a 10k - all in less than two hours. Kemper did his first triathlon at age 10. These are his fourth Olympics. But he’s never won a medal. He hopes to change that when he competes on Tuesday. Kemper says every second counts in triathlon, including the transitions, ike from the swim to the bike ride.
