Colorado applied for millions of dollars in federal education grant money. It planned to use the $175 million dollars to help fast-track several major education reforms. The funds would have gone toward rolling out new academic standards in the classroom and helping school districts develop new ways to grade teachers.Colorado education leaders say that will stay happen but more slowly.
