The firing of a part-time professor at the Community College of Aurora has led to a debate over academic standards at the school, which serves about 10,000 students.
Nathanial Bork, an adjunct professor of philosophy, was let go this fall. He says it was because he criticized the school's new curriculum. College officials say Bork was dismissed because he failed to effectively implement the new curriculum.
This week, the American Association of University Professors will be on CCA's campus to investigate whether Bork's academic freedom was violated when he was fired.
Nathanial Bork and Janet Brandau, CCA's vice president of academic affairs, spoke with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner.
