Former Ambassador Christopher Hill argued two years ago that President Barack Obama had blundered in Syria. The mistake, he outlined in a New York Times commentary, "When to Talk to Monsters," was seeking the removal of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. But Assad remains in power, with the backing of Iran and Russia.
Hill has served as ambassador to Iraq, among other countries, and was once assigned to negotiate with Slobodan Milosevic, the so-called "Butcher of the Balkans." Now, he leads the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Hill spoke with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner about the situation in Syria now.
