Nancy Tipton is 101 years old. She thinks longevity may be in her genes, but she also chooses to focus on the positive things in life.

Nancy Tipton says all her life, she's been blessed. The 101-year-old great-grandmother lives at Holly Creek in Centennial. As a young woman, she worked as a codebreaker and at the Pentagon before moving to Colorado where she worked as a columnist for the Denver Post.

She reflects on her life and longevity as part of our ongoing series, Aging Matters on Colorado Matters. We're sharing the stories of centenarians who live in Colorado to find out why they think they've lived longer than most people, and how they've chosen to live their lives.
