Reggie Compton of Loveland went to the emergency room at a Colorado hospital for difficulty breathing, and left with some over the counter pain meds. Then came the exorbitant bill. Her story helped get a new state law passed that protects Coloradans from similar medical billing nightmares. Reggie joins us along with Julia Char Gilbert, a policy analyst with the Colorado Center on Law and Policy, and Adam Fox, Deputy Director of the Colorado Consumer Health Initiative. Both organizations worked to support House Bill 1198 which took effect as state law on September 1.
