In the not-too-distant future, you might travel between Cheyenne, Denver, and Pueblo in a pod, flying through a vacuum-sealed tube at 700 miles an hour.
The Hyperloop seems like the stuff of science fiction, but Colorado has been chosen as a potential first route. It's a tantalizing move which could make ultra-high speed travel a reality along the Front Range.
In a news release following the announcement, Shailen Bhatt, the executive Director of Colorado's Department of Transportation, expressed excitement and said that "the Hyperloop technology could directly align with our goals of improving mobility and safety in Colorado, and we have been encouraged by the continued progress the technology is taking."
